To all families,
Just reaching out to stay in contact and update you all on our current events, practices, and positions with regards to the COVID-19 aka coronavirus.
As you, your family member(s), and our community’s health and well being is central to our mission; we want to make sure we’re doing everything we can or need to, to ensure we are taking care of everyone’s needs.
Thus far we’ve been instructing all personnel to practice and maintain self care and preventive measures in accordance with local, state and federal agencies, such as the Indiana State Dept of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There are specific guidelines and protocols for individual, workplace, and childcare settings that we have implemented across the organization which we will continue to monitor and update as indicated.
In addition to these basic protective measures, we are also going to pursue some telehealth related practices for the BCBA’s and possibly others, in order to reduce group size and close proximity contact in home and office settings. This doesn’t mean we won’t be performing any in person supervision or site visits, just that we will be managing our methods for carrying out routine activities to minimize exposure related risk.
We’ve heard from many of you regarding your preferences regarding whether and how to maintain therapy during this period. Please keep us updated regarding these preferences or any changes and let us know if you have any questions or suggestions about anything.
We are also checking in with all SCI personnel regularly and will honor their preferences as well if they become uncomfortable or feel they need to step back from providing therapy in order to minimize risk to themselves or their family. If/when this occurs we will do everything we can to minimize service interruptions unless circumstances prevent us from being able to do so otherwise.
That’s all I have for now. We will continue to update you all as events play out. Thank you as always for your support and understanding.
In good health, Fritz
