Mental Health Counseling

Outpatient Counseling Services

While SCI has mainly worked with folks with Autism and other disabilities, our therapy services welcome everyone! We believe that everyone faces challenges, and it’s our goal to help you through them.

Our Approach

Individualized Treatment

We currently have a team of three therapists: (from left to right) Julie Chapin, PhD, HSPP, Ashley Gartner, MA, LMHCA, and Lindsay Begley, MS, LMFTA. While each therapist has their own unique way of doing therapy, they all strive to bring a warm and empathetic approach. We focus on meeting your goals in a safe space while offering validation and support. Counseling can be painful at times, yet overall a rewarding, comforting and positive experience you can carry throughout your life.

Individual Therapy

We provide a supportive environment for our clients to heal and feel more fulfillment in their daily lives.

Marriage & Couples Therapy

We assist clients in working together with their partners on resolving conflict and building satisfaction within their relationships.

Family Therapy

We assist families in collaborating to solve problems, as well as improve communication and relationships.

DBT Group Therapy

We offer a DBT skills training group therapy that teaches clients behavioral skills they can use in their everyday lives. DBT focuses on problems with emotional instability and dysregulation through the use of mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. One must be in individual therapy with our services in order to attend this group.

Play Therapy

Our therapists are able to provide Play Therapy for children. Many children lack the language to engage in traditional talk therapy, so Play Therapy is a therapeutic technique that uses their universal language: play. It is used for a number of issues including exposure to trauma, behavioral concerns, emotional regulation, and much more. It can also be used to teach children coping mechanisms and ways to redirect maladaptive behaviors.

LGBTQ+ Affirming Care

Our therapists are LGBTQ+ affirming and provide a safe space for gender and sexually diverse populations. We provide gender-affirming care that can include writing letters of support for gender confirmation procedures.
